Toddy is 33 weeks old now. He was raised with his Mum and 2 lady whippets and his new home is also all ladies. He is not lifting his leg yet. Is this usual or is he a late starter?

Don't worry :)

Irie didn't lift his leg until he was over 9 months old and even now, at 18 months, he still "squats" occasionally

Alfie never really did get round to cocking his leg, he was so laid back without an ounce of dominance or reason to show off

In my opinion the very early 'leg cockers' tend to be more dominant. the later ones more laid back :))

He is cute, ours are 7 and still sometimes squat x

mine is 11 months and most of the time squats, only really cocks his leg up if he's running around a park

Ours are seven months and if they are in the garden or it's their first wee out on a walk, they squat . Out on walks Grover will cock his leg quite frequently so is scent marking. He's only really been doing this for the past month or so. I've only seen Roscoe cock his leg a couple of times - he's too laid back to be bothered (though he is our dominant dog). :)

Star is 9 months old now and first cocked his leg when he was 14 weeks old  he still however still squats on occassion

Dudley's new owners informed me that he started to lift his leg a few weeks ago.... He will be a year old next week

xxx

Both the boys I had from pups were 12 months before they cocked their leg. Rebus on the other hand was just over six months.

Otis is ten months now and he has only cocked his leg about 4 times :- (. Slightly embarassing when you are wearing a coat and you pee all over it! Not to mention your tummy or one of your legs! ewwww
