I am looking into getting a Whippet male sometime in 2002. I know colour is not important in the ring, according to the standard, but I defnitely have personal preferences! I will be seeking a black pigmented dog, preferably fawn and white, and no black masking. Temperament, of course, is very important. If I can be picky, no short or thick neck... the more elegant the type, the better (I am American! LOL). Does anyone know who has and breeds Whippets of this description? I am somewhat interested in showing, but mainly, I want a companion I will enjoy looking at and spoiling. I am in Basingstoke, but would go anywhere in the UK to get my new boy.

Hi There, If I were you I would have a look at the shows for a year or so.  Patsy Gilmore has dark pigmented fawns as does Nev Newton, and some of Pam Marstons. E mail me if you want more info.
