We have a Whippet from Coventry (affix. Kenmilquin) I would love to hear from anyone else who owns one, particularly from a litter born around 27th July 2004. Many thanks :)

I could be very wrong but i'm not 100% sure that Kenmilquin is an affix, please someone correct me if i am wrong but i think the Kennel club uses a slight variation of letters after the word Kenmil for when they are requested to provide names for litters with the last letters changing depending which year and quater they are born in e.g Kenmillone, Kenmillto.

if i have ballsed up as usual with info and offended anyone then i appologise :b

any chance of some pics of your whippy(we all love to coo over new dogs), whats his/her name :)) welcome to k9

i think thats about right  amber is kenmilltri, and her breeder had no affix.

This is really fascinating- does anyone have any more information about this as I am really interested (appart from anything Esme's father is a Kenmillone)

How did this start?

Why Kenmil?

Is there any differentiation between breeds?

I think I have figured something out- does it work like this:

Ken - for Kennel Club

Mill- for the millenium

...one

...to

...tri

...?

...quin- for the quarter or year

Does this make any sense?

ooh, might be! amber was born 2003...kenmilltri...?

and i think breed irrespective, as kenmillone and kenmillto are used for staffords

Just came across this on another site:-

When the breeder doesnt have their own affix, or they cant be bothered choosing names for their pups, the Kennel Club name them. They use different names for different years for example :

Kentene - 80

Kenwunn - 81

Kentoo - 82

Kenee - 83

Kenour - 84

Kenive - -85

Kensix - 86

Keneven - 87

Kenate - 88

Kenine - 89

Kenkew - 90

Kenar - 91

Keness - 92

Kentee - 93

Kenue - 94

Kenvee - 95

Kenwu - 96

Kenex - 97

Kenyee - 98

Kenzed - 99

Kenmillen - 00

Kenmillone - 01

Kenmillto - 02

Kenmilltri - 03

Kenmilfore - 04

Kenmilquin - 05

Thats really interesting Masta- thank you

Hi Nicky,

Olivia doesn't really log onto K9 anymore, I don't think. Hopefully she won't mind, but being quite an old fart on here now :p , I remember when Olivia chose Esme (from Paul Cork's Lynperry kennels). She is from the following parents:

Gardens Lane Girl X Kenmillone Silver Tongue of Lynperry (Starrie X Tottie)
