I was in the car, getting a lift home from the Northern Ireland Sporting Whippet Club meet Sunday 5 Sept. The dogs were in an aluminium dog trailer. Somehow the chain with a clip became undone and so the bolt on the door was able to slide open. An adult dog was in the same compartment of the trailer and he was still lying in the very back of the compartment. It is difficult when we don't know where to search; the pup could've got out anywhere between Dunsilly Antrim and Lisnagelvin Derry/Londonderry. To make things worse, the weather turned very wet and windy Sun night and Mon.

Boyce travelled all the way back to Antrim very shortly after discovering her pup was gone. She fully expected to see a dead body on the road; she did find two dead cats (rip) but no dogs. There is also a small chance the pup was stolen in the field or that the lock was tampered with. We don't think that is likely. If he got out near Lisnagelvin there is a good chance that someone found him so Boyce and friends have been making efforts to publicise the missing dog.

Jack is mostly black, with symetrical white blaze on his face, white paws, "shirt front" and tail tip. I think he has a small white triangle on his neck. I noticed a cluster of three small white spots above his hindquarters (I think left side?- owner or breeder can verify that in a future message). He is listed on doglost, Alfies Lost Dogs, North West Pet Rescue, facebook websites.

Oh, I am so delighted. Poor wee Jack, I have been so worried wondering where he could be and if he was safe.

The owners must be over the moon. I bet he will be getting lots of guggies and a VERY special dinner :D
