Lots Of Lurcher Pups In Rescue

So many dogs to rescue  The lurcher pups are gorgeous :) So many sad, sad stories

I approached this rescue centre in Sept to adopt a lurcher pup but they refused me as I have a 10 yr old entire female.....I explained I wanted a dog pup & that he would be neutered at 5 - 6 months but was firmly told 'NO'

I now have Pica but rigid rules lead to too many dogs remaining in care... They would not even do a home check or meet with me!!

We've had similar problems in the past with a rescue centre when we were looking for a puppy, also friends have been refused, :( all would have been excellent, experienced homes. We got our puppy from a breeder & all our dogs since have come from breeders/people we know.

"they refused me as I have a 10 yr old entire female"

It seems a great many pet rescue centres have this rule, which effectively prevents people who also have show dogs or occasionally breed dogs from adopting a rescue dog as well. Yes, the rescues say that neutered dogs generally socialise better -- but this is not a hard and fast rule and also we are talking about people who already have quite a lot of experience managing their dog pack

another option might be to rescue a dog straight from the municipal pound

I notice Many Tears also has a striking glossy black year-old lurcher, Thomas, presently looking for a "forever home"

That is such a shame, although i can understand why they dont rehome to people with un-nuetered pets, they dont have the time of day for people that are 'irresponsible' owners because of the kind of dogs they have kennels full of (being bred for profit)

By the way............i have never had any of my dogs spayed/castrated but i have never bred a litter so i am not saying that you are irrisponsible if you do not, just thats obvouisly what they think :(

I thought it was very sad that they were looking homes for so many ex-breeding dogs, especially the wee Westie bitches, apparently the most popular breed in Britain. I HATE puppy farming!!!!!

The lurcher pups are lovely.

when i lost my lurcher bitch i phoned Many Tears with a view to being able to foster but they didn't want to know as i have two entire males, I don't breed but i show my lurchers!

This was their loss as i now foster for Evesham greyhound lurcher rescue & i only foster bitches and am now on my eighth girl of the year and have not had a single problem. Thank god for sensible rescues.

Beautiful pups with this rescue to!
