I have been contacted by a lovely retired lady in the Devon area that is looking for a young whippet companion for her 3 yr old spayed whippet bitch. Unfortunately she is too far away from the UK rescues we work with so if anyone knows of a whippet looking, please contact me and I can give you her details. Whippet must be ok with cats as she has two. Thanks Sarah

I saw two yesterday on my usual trawl through the sites. One was a whippet cross called Coaster on the Many Tears website, he looks like he may have a slight bit of collie in him or maybe greyhound. Gorgeous black and white dog, good with cats! I also remember seeing another one, a blue boy, but can't remember which site he was on - it may have been Many Tears as well but their dog page is enormous and you can't 'search' it. This dog was described as 'enough whippet in him for us to describe him as such'. He just looked like a very slightly fluffy whippie, but this may have been 'kennel coat'. Both dogs were definitely identifiable as whippets as opposed to crosses.

With MT the lady would have to travel to Wales to meet the dogs, though.

Ahh, have just found the blue whippet on dogpages (he is with Many Tears) but he's reserved. His name is Klar.

there are at least a couple of whippets for rehoming listed in the non-ped whippet racing section; these might be nearer to Durham

not necessarily to go to racing homes, though in some cases that is a possibility
