Hi there I'm new to this forum. I can offer a loving home to a whippet or small lurcher. I live in the South Wales area with lots of lovely walks on the Gower peninsula virtually on the doorstep. It's just me living in the house, no kids or other animals. I have a secure rear garden with 6ft fencing. I am willing to travel up to 150 miles to get the right dog. :)

It is acceptable to post a general request looking for puppies/whippets, but please remember to ask that replies be sent via pm. And for those replying to this type of post please contact the poster privately (PM or email) if you think you might be able to help. This way if it's YOUR litter or dog you can't be thought of as advertising and if it's someone else's litter, dog or a breeder you recommend you are not putting their info out into a public domain either. ]

Four Paws in South Wales have the very gorgeous Blue: http://www.fourpawsanimalrescue.org.uk/blue.html

Many Tears have a pair of whippet boys and often have various lurchers for rehoming (you will have to scroll down to see them)

Not sure if this would be too far away from you as they are based in Stoke, but Greyhound Gap have some whippet X for rehoming at the moment, including Little Peg who sounds like the most fantastic fun character:

Good luck finding your new dog! :luck:

Thanks for the links Fee Fee. I am following up on the Four Paws one to see if he is still available.

I also saw the whippet boys from many tears just now and then came here and saw your post and thought aha! ;) One is now reserved but one still looking, so beautiful. Also if you'd consider her there's precious little Josie whippet who I've posted about on here whos' been waiting for a home for months now but seems not to be getting one because of her muscle deformity issue (which doesn't affect her that much) and because she's not 'perfect' looking :( I just thought about her as she's a little whippy girl and in bristol which isn't massively far from you. Good luck in finding the right hound, anyhoo. :)

Congratulations, what a fabulous looking boy he is

Wishing you all the best with him - I hope we're going to see some updates and pictures!

(w00t) what a stunner he is, good luck with him and well done for giving him his own sofa :luck: :luck:

Thanks for all the good wishes. Archie seems to be settling in well. I've taken him for a good walk of about 4 miles today, in between the showers. I wanted to see what his recall was like so I took him into one of the local tennis courts, which is securely fenced, for a run around. He chased a stick backwards and forwards and he came to me straight away when I was ready to go. I think I'd better build up a bit more of bond with him before I let him off lead in the open though. So far he hasn't put a foot wrong, I've made a few mistakes though. :D

Have I got the only lurcher that prefers the floor to a sofa? He seems happy on the floor and wont go on the sofa but perhaps he will after settling in for a bit longer.
