LUCY

**UPDATED: MAY 2012**

This is Lucy. She is a brindle greyhound girlie who is just 2 years old. Lucy is a real stunner with her lemon brindle colouring, piercing eyes and dainty build. She has never raced and has been well looked after, coming to us in beautiful condition with a satin soft coat. We are sure this stunning girl will be snapped up very quickly, so please don’t delay if you are interested in possibly adopting her.

~ Personality ~

Lucy is an absolute poppet who is always pleased to see you, no matter what. She is a very happy, friendly girl and we are certain she is going to simply adore the home life. It’s going to be a pleasure to show this girl the big wide world, and whoever adopts her is going to be very lucky.

~ In the Home ~

Lucy has not been in a home environment before, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow her time to settle in and learn the home rules. It generally takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience.

~ Other Animals ~

Lucy gets on great with other dogs large and small, young and old. She cannot live with cats but would be a great companion for a nervous or insecure dog, or would fit happily into an existing pack.

~ Out and About ~

Like most greyhounds, Lucy will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area a couple of times a week. Being a young girl, Lucy would love to be shown how to play as she has never had a toy of her own before.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~

Lucy is currently being kennelled in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to us in Norfolk to meet her.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Lucy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This girl would greatly benefit from being in a foster home, and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always in desperate need of new fosterers. It is such a rewarding experience, and costs are covered by the rescue.

If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Lucy, please visit either our website’s KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK[/B] ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.
