I have a friend who has a young rescue lurcher. She is looking for somewere to try him at racing. She lives in North Wales.

Do any of you know of any racing clubs she could take him too?

Does nobody know of anywere in north Wales then? If not were is the nearest place that does do it?

There is at least one game fair in N Wales, but I don't think there are any clubs which meet more frequently. When I visited a friend in N Wales, I had to go to Lancashire to race whippets. Astley Miners non-ped whippet racing club has a fun day in the summer which includes races for lurchers.

dont know of any lurcher clubs in north wales but i,ve seen a few whippet racing clubs advertising for lurchers to turn up at there meetings .Only regular racing i know besides game shows is with LURCHER LINK at highgate greyhound stadium rotherham once a month normally second saturday details can be found on there website.ive been a few times its fun racing only over 100m,260m414m590m710m take your pick normaly lasts whole afternoon and any money raised goes to there organisation dogs can be given solo runs if they havent raced before .a real good afternoon out plenty of friendly people to have a natter with your friend would be more than welcome proberbly 70% of dog that go are rescue dogs !bit of a way to travel but worth the effort once a month i know a few people travel from as far as shropshire .

yes its at the greyhound track. its run by the afghan club. all breeds have a run run :teehee: .
