Lurchers Die At Appleby

People like that shouldn't own a Fxxxxg dog   I'd like to sit them in a car a shut the windows, how sad, those poor dogs. :( di

What a Horrific death, so sad and so unecessary

This is so sickening, how can people be so irresponsible and cruel to leave their dogs in hot cars   very heartbreaking :( :(

This happened last year at Appleby, the dogs were owned by a guy from Lancaster who went home for something and left the dogs alone in the car there. He was up in court for it but got off lightly which is more than can be said for the poor dogs. We normally go up there for a day as we only live about 15 miles away but didn't this year.

Isn't it time they stopped that fair??? There are guys near where I live, who during all this hot weather have been trotting ponies on the roads with their little trotting carts in the full sun. Flat out on the hot tarmac. It can't be good for them, they must get shin splints going the speed they do.

As for those poor lurchers, I saw that program last year and was horrified. What is wrong with people????????

A baby cooked to death, left in a car in the car park at Porthtowan some years ago, don't people think what they are doing?????????

Brings tears to my eyes watching this, those poor dogs, so easily avoided - so irresponsible - makes me furious

I saw the programme the other day. It was sickening.

Impressive to watch the police smashing in car windows in order to rescue and give dogs air.

That would hit the pockets of those selfish inconsiderate fools that leave dogs locked in cars in hot weather. They are obviously to stupid to figure out that their dogs could be cooked alive.

A couple of very valid points were however made.

1. leaving a couple of windows open a few inches is not enough

2. It may be overcast when the dogs are left in the car but if the sun comes out things change very quickly.

Very sad to see how owners will abuse their dogs, leaving them to suffer and die while they go off and have fun. :( :( :(

OMG,you know it happens, but its so shocking to see it.Idiots

Those poor dogs must have suffered. Its hard to keep dogs cool in cars and vans

in this weather. Ours have a dish of water in cage, fan on and I freeze 2 litre pop

bottles with water in and put one in each cage. This seems to help keep them as

cool as possible. Wet towels draped over the cage help too.

Thats just it Pat,its because you care about your dogs.I am like you,it is a priority

that my dogs are kept comfortable, its just me thats roasting.
