Hi All, new this forum and have a little question...

I have a young deerhound that I would like to take to see some Lure coursing and when he's old enough , to take part in. I live in the North West and don't know where to go. All the BSFA meetings are down south in newbury, which is way too far to travel with a young dog.

Are there any meetings held withing reasonable driving distance of north wales?

thanks,

Steve.

Welcome to K9 :))

There was talk a while back of starting up another BSFA club based in or around Worcestershire; I think I read it on one of their newsletters, asking people to contact the organisers if they were interested. I assume there wasn't enough interest at the time to make it worth while as I haven't heard any more about it. It might be worth contacting them and asking about it; if there is sufficient demand, there might be a possibility of getting something going.

:luck: in finding somewhere.

I think the one you are on about Moriarte is the Harerunner club, organised by Alex Dalglish (there is another topic in this thread about the next meeting which is on 17 September).

Doesn't Mark Roberts organise the North West Lure Coursing Club????

I'm quite aware of Alec's Harerunner venture. To clarify, I asked Gary P, and yes, someone was trying to get a club started in the West Midlands area (for mixed sighthounds), and BSFA were going to help support and guide them, but they couldn't find enough people willing to help set up and run the events; until that happens it doesn't look like it will ever get started.

If anyone is interested in helping to get a club going in the area, particularly with setting up etc, let me know and I'll pass on the contact details of the organiser.
