Mac is a gorgeous 14 year old Lurcher cross who came into Oldies Club care because his owner was ill and could no longer take care of him. Mac has spent a number of weeks home alone with a relative of his owner calling to see him regularly. Poor lad must be so glad to be in his Oldies Club foster home now, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Mac is a friendly and happy boy who loves everyone. He gets on well with other dogs and in his foster home he has shown no aggression towards the resident dogs, rabbit or indoor caged chipmunk. We were told by Mac’s previous carer that he will chase cats but he might possibly be OK with a very confident cat.
He has shown no food aggression and will share a dish with the other dogs. He loves walks and can run at quite a speed, despite his age. But as shown in the photo below, he also enjoys a comfy nap!
Mac had been left for long periods when his previous owner was in hospital, so he is quite happy to be left a while, but his foster carers haven’t left him on his own as he’s had the company of the other dogs. Mac does love company and he wants to know where everyone is going.
Mac has been vet-checked and he was found to be fine except for a little arthritis in his back legs for which he has been prescribed Metacam. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and flea and worm treated. He may be a little deaf but this causes no problem.
His foster carers tell us “Anyone who sees him will love him. He deserves a great home. ”
How could anyone resist this gorgeous old boy?
