MACONRY

Maconry is a 2 year old greyhound boy who was not fast enough for the race track. He has a black tuxedo coat that is a bit dull at the moment but that will improve with some good quality food.

Maconry is a really nice, friendly hound who is fun to be around. He has a relaxed, laid back demeanour and is generally a very happy hound who is easy to keep contented. All Maconry wants from life is yummy food, a soft bed, and plenty of cuddles! He is really just a big soft sweetiepie and we think he will make a fantastic companion for whomever decides to adopt him. Maconry gets on well with the other greyhounds in the kennels and also travels well in the car.

Lovely Maconry has sadly spent all his life so far in racing kennels, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow him time to get accustomed to the new home environment.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010**

Maconry is waiting for his forever home and has now moved across to the UK. He is such a lovely big placid fellow, we know he’s going to settle well in to the home life. He lives for fuss and attention, and will stand beside you all day long if you scratch his ears. His coat is slowly improving, with the older kennel coat gradually brushing out to reveal his shiny new coat underneath.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010b**

The gorgeous Maconry recently helped out at the annual Carnival in Cromer, Norfolk and was very well behaved. He met lots of people of all ages, greeted them with a calm grace and helped to promote greyhounds as pets.

Maconry’s coat is so much better now and is starting to become sleek and shiny, making him a very pretty boy to behold.

He even got himself a new girlfriend in the form of Mildred! She’s another of our hounds looking for her forever home.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010c**

The lovely Maconry is now in foster care and is loving the home life. It wont be too long before he learns the house rules and becomes fully housetrained.

Maconry has also shown to be small dog friendly and is very mannerly in greeting them. He could live with a small dog, and enjoys the company of both human and canine. He is not cat friendly, however.

**UPDATE AUGUST 2010d**

Maconry is doing well in his foster home, though was a bit shy for the first few days before starting to settle down and get used to things. We will have a more detailed update for him soon once he starts making real progress.

Maconry makes doggie friends easily and enjoys his group walks. He is the second dog on the left in this photo.

**UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2010**

The lovely Maconry, or Maccy for short, has settled nicely in to his foster home after a few small hiccups at the start. He was quite shy and timid for the first week or two, being spooked by sudden movements or particularly loud traffic. He is improving daily, however, and as you can see has become fully acquainted with the sofa!

Maccy is excellently behaved when out and about, and we really can’t fault him. He is calm and mannerly with all other dogs, young and old, large and small and walks to heel. He greatly enjoys being around other dogs, and as such he would do very well in a home with another dog (or two!) to keep him company. He is lacking in confidence a little bit right now, and would benefit from being around another self assured dog who’s lead he could follow in unfamiliar situations.

Maconry loves his food and will listen very closely if you have a tasty treat! He has already learned some basic training and will lay down or go to his bed on command. He is fine to be left for up to 3.5hrs, and when his fosterer brings him to work with her he is perfectly behaved. He also went along to a doggie Gala recently, and relished being around other greyhound shaped dogs again! His housetraining is coming along nicely and he has no recent accidents inside.

Maconry is a real gentle soul, being sensitive and attentive to his owner. He has very few flaws and would do very well as a ‘first time hound’ for someone who has never owned a sighthound before. He would do best in a home with some doggie company, though is also ok to be left alone for short periods. He is going to make a fantastic companion and friend for whomever decides to adopt him.

Maconry is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
