Max came into Oldies Club care as an emergency after his elderly owner had a fall and broke his hip and wasn’t found for several days. Very sadly we’ve since heard that his owner died.
Max is 11 years old and a wonderful friendly, laid-back placid boy - as well as being incredibly handsome.
He is currently in a temporary foster home in Watford and his foster mum adores him, but we urgently need to find Max a permanent home or a longer-term foster place. His current foster mum is away from the end of this month and we don't feel he would do well in kennels at all.
Max is wonderful with people of all ages and adores children. He's well behaved and quiet in the house, but anxious about being left alone for long periods. Anyone around most of the time who would like to open up their home to this wonderful old gent?
Max was overweight when he first arrived, but is now a sensible weight which has made his mobility much better and he has come off the pain relief medication that he was on for pain in his hips, although he can only manage short walks and would be very happy just to potter if someone had a large garden or bit of land.
Max is not keen on cats and is choosy about the company he keeps when it comes to other dogs; he has lived with other dogs in the past though, so with careful introductions he may be able to again.
If you are interested in offering Max a permanent or foster home, please contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:
Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Telephone: 0844 586 8656
Max can be fostered or rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit. For a permanent rehoming, you would be required to travel to meet him.
