Did anyone else see it? I thought it was excellent. They were not out to make anyone look foolish or to make sensational tv. The water challenge was a bit extreme, though, I thought.

It was nice, too, to see a range of dog breeds.

I agree I started watching expecting the usual programme that makes me get angry and switch off but I enjoyed it. And they gave quite a bit of good info on getting your dog to respond.

Oh I didn't bother cos I thought it would be another silly programme but now wish I did - sounds good. Will try to watch on catch up too JoanneF.

I've recorded it but haven't watched it yet. I saw a clip on the one programme, where they were teaching owners to train their dogs with eye contact? Looked amazing though i hope they reached that stage later in the series - i can just about get -one - of my dog's to respond to my voice!!

Bbc2 programmes are sometimes repeated in the early hours of the morning so might be worth looking out for it there

I've just watched it on iplayer and do agree with others. It was good. Everyone seemed to be having fun but there was some good advice from the experts.

A good one i saw recently was rich dog, poor dog - did anyone else see it? It was on one of the main channels and i found it fascinating to watch. Basic story was two very different women/dog owners from the Battersea area - one had a rescue staff and a jack Russel, the other had, a think it was a shitzu or similar. Both lived in completely different worlds with completely different finances and views on dog omnership. Had to laugh when the 'rich' owner asked her groomer i think if it was okay to feed her dog pedigree chum, as she'd heard rumours it was like feeding a daily diet of McDonalds.. 'good god no!!' With all that part aside, there was a point when the owner of the rescue staff thought it might be a good idea to breed her dog to improve her 'financial situation'. I was incredibly impressed by the vet from the PDSA where she took the dog, who advised against breeding, even going as far as saying that if she did, they wouldn't continue giving free vet care, as it wasn't in keeping with responsible ownership. Think I've summarised the programme right, or if not, given a major spoiler if you do want to watch in the future.. Sorry!

I watched it on iPlayer last night. I really enjoyed it. It was interesting and entertaining, enough of the science bits to educate, not dumbed down and really positive training methods. Even Chris Packham wasn't too overenthusiastic. And I was warming to some of the contestants and dogs too.

Me too - both the PDSA and the RSPCA get criticism for things that are beyond their control. If they received as much support as they do criticism, there jobs would be a lot easier
