Hi everyone

Bit of advice from you experts - Meg is 5 weeks in pup;

She is like all whippets loves her running and chasing and then sleeps -_- (it seems for the rest of the day!!). But she has become very lazy we practicaly have to push her out of the door for a walk and shes not really interested in running. I am assuming this is simply because she's going to become a mammy.... am I right or should I take her to the vet for an interim check up.

Regards all

Kath

Think you would be wise to have a check up ---i have never had one in pup that has acted this way mine are if anything the opposite and love to get out and run also would never miss a walk even on day they whelped i had had them out prior to giving birth

I agree with Steve bitches I have bred from have always been full of themselves during pregnancy to the point of my having to higher the fencing especially with Annie who in her last week was attempting to scale a 5ft fence just for fun

i agree ,my ollie is the same as soon as the cold weather sets in he loves his walks and is always nagging in the summmer to go out but as soon as that cold weather comes in he hides in his bed if he doesnt want to go out and if i make him go out he just walks by side of me with tail between his legs ,but if your worried id take her to vets just better to be safe than sorry my mum always say :cheers:

I don't think you have much to worry about pregnant dogs are all different , as long as she seems comfortable, in no stress and is losing no colored discharge from her back end and is eating and drinkung well she will be fine ...

to put your mind @ rest id get her checked. its probably nothing but better to be safe than sorry. weve only bred one bitch and i remember she wudnt eat her normal food she had to have fresh fish with tomatoes for about the last 4 weeks. so like i say its prob nowt.
