MILO

**UPDATED: MAY 2012**

This is little Milo. He is a 3-4 month old whippet x who has come to us recently from Ireland. He is a very cute little boy with a snow white coat that really makes his gorgeous eyes pop out. Milo was found as a stray in a poorly state, but is well on the mend now and is ready to find his forever family.

~ Personality ~

Milo is a real cheeky chap and is an absolute bundle of fun. This is his first time in a home and he is wanting to explore and test everything around him. He is very curious and bright, and it’s clear he wants to learn everything he can about this strange new place he finds himself in. He is discovering toys and it’s a delight to watch him play. Right now Milo is at the age where he wants to investigate everything via his mouth, and this includes people! His fosterers are working with him on his mouthing issue, which happens when he gets excited or wants to initiate play. This can be a common issue with young pups, but it is also quite easily reversible with a bit of work and training.

Milo is a little bit nervous of men and shows this by barking at them. We are sure that with a bit of work this issue is resolvable; he just needs to gain some confidence and trust in people. This boy would benefit massively from attending puppy socialisation classes, where he can learn to meet other people and animals in a safe, positive setting. Milo has pucks of potential and in the right home with people who are ok with putting in a bit of work, he is sure to make a super little family member.

~ In the Home ~

Milo has only been in his foster home for a few days, so it’s still very early for him and, being a puppy, he is having the occasional toilet accident. This is also why he is so incredibly curious about everything in the home – it’s literally his first time experiencing it. We are sure that in a few weeks he will start to settle and learn about the house rules. Please note that because he is such a young puppy and moving home is stressful, he will likely have some accidents for the first couple of days when he moves into your home too.

~ Other Animals ~

Milo loves loves loves other dogs and wants to play all the time. Being such a young puppy, he would benefit hugely from having a slightly older, settled dog already present to be his role model. Already he is picking up ques from his foster siblings, bright little boy that he is.

Milo can also live with cats and is sharing his foster home with a cat now. It’s worth heeding, however, that because he is just a puppy he also wants to play with cats, which might not be so welcome by the cats themselves! He will listen to a telling off though, and we expect this urge to constantly play will lessen a bit as he settles more into the family life.

~ Out and About ~

Milo’s inquisitive nature means he loves getting out and seeing the world around him. He is learning how to walk on a lead now and is making great progress. He is generally friendly with people and dogs that he meets, though again his nervousness with men can sometimes means he will bark at them. The more he gets out and sees that men aren’t going to hurt him, the more relaxed he will become.

~ Where Can I Live? ~

Because Milo is such a young little lad and in to everything, he will need a home with someone there all day to keep an eye on him and give him company. He would be great in a home with another dog(s) already present to show him the ropes, but due to his current mouthing issue he would be best in a home without young children as his little teeth are quite sharp. He can live with a confident cat who doesn’t mind the occasional whippet cannonball coming their way. Milo is a super little man who is so eager to learn and find out where his place is in the world. He is guaranteed to make a fabulous, highly entertaining friend to whomever adopts him.

~ Where Am I? ~

Milo is being fostered in Norfolk, UK. He can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you may be required to travel to his foster home to meet him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Milo is vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

PLEASE NOTE: Milo is not yet neutered as he is still a bit too young. As such, Kerry Greyhounds UK require that his adopters agree to have him neutered once he reaches the desirable age – usually 6mths – and this will be part of his adoption contract.

If you are interested in adopting little Milo, please visit our website’s KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK[/B] ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.
