MONTY

Monty is a lovely 3yr old ex-racing greyhound. He is quite a big boy, weighing in at 37kilos, but is very much a gentle giant. He's very well behaved, likes being around people, and has a lovely calm nature. He also travels brilliantly in the car, walks perfect on the lead and is spotlessly clean in his kennel.

Monty currently has a broken bone in his right hock, and was saved by a KGC volunteer from being euthanised. The leg is now in a splint, and it should heal fine in a few weeks with no further problems after that. His coat is also lacking in condition, but this will improve quickly with a good diet - and Monty LOVES his food!

Monty gets on well with other dogs his size. He was around small terriers in his previous home and did not show any interest in them. He definitely can not be homed with cats, though!

This gorgeous, easy-going fella really deserves a soft sofa to retire too now that his racing days are over. He is currently in private kennels in Ireland and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUND CONNECTION ~~

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England and operates through a network of volunteers. We can look after approximately 40 greyhounds at any one time, in Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Europe and USA.

We can be contacted via PM or through any of the following:

Address: P.O. Box 58, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 7AG OR

Monty has now travelled to the UK and is experiencing a home environment for the first time while in foster care in Ipswich. This lovely lad is still waiting for his forever home offer.

**UPDATE 01/2010**

Sadly Monty hasn't had the best of time of late. He was rehomed earlier this week, only to be returned less than 35 hours later as he was too boisterous with their grandson and the adopters didnt want to work on this. Obviously the poor fella is going to be stressed and confused in his first week in yet another new environment, and we feel he wasn't given a chance to get accustomed to the new situation. :(

Im really fond of this fella, who is FULL of character! Heres a few pictures of him lounging in his foster home. :) He is available for adoption.

:( Oh how sad, poor Monty, I hope he finds a happy home soon, he's gorgeous xx

Monty has been adopted and is getting on great in his new home! This thread can be closed now, thanks!
