I am a firm believer in leaving our dear Mother Nature to her own devices :) However after along wait it seems I may be getting the racing bitch I have long waited for :D :p

With modern times and training being so different to when I raced my last bitch. Do I stop my bitch from coming into season if abig event is coming up :b Or do as I would have years ago and let Mother Nature have her way :)

Many have told me stoping a bitch can make them infertile :(

and evan slow them down on the track :0

So for the sake of a few weeks, which is best for my bitch in modern day racing. Do I stop my bitch from coming into season or carry on as I did before ??

HIYA Butch, nice to hear from you again, what is your bitch bred out of and how old is she, personally i don't like stopping seasons BUT when you have bitch's that come in season every six months it certainly get's on your nerves cos you just get em race fit and they are off the track again.... :D :p ???

I personally don't agree with stopping bitches from coming into season, if they need resting so be it.

Fluke comes into season every 6 months and she copes ok, shes kept fit throughout, rested and fed well.

Crystal Bay also is a 6 month breaker.

YEH LIKE I SAID I PERSONALLY DON'T STOP MY BITCH'S FROM COMING INTO SEASON, BUT I KNOW A LOT THAT DO.. AND WHEN THEY COME INTO SEASON THEY ARE RESTED FOR THREE WEEKS, THEY ARE THEN WALKED BUT WE NEVER RUN OUR BITCH'S IN OR OUT OF SEASON THEY NEED THE BREAK......... ??? WE ALWAYS TAKE ADVICE FROM THEM THAT KNOW.....

By the way butch , do as you did before.......... :D

Hi Butch, what bitch did you race before ? We never stop our bitches, The old ways are the best. Thats how we think anyway, Nature knows best

Even if you did stop her from coming in season you probably wouldn't get any good runs from her coz they lose yards when they've been stopped! I've also known of bitches to end up infertile & one to have ovary problems which resulted in having them removed hence she could never produce pups!!! Is it really worth it for the sake of our own impatience? I think not

Hope you have the best of luck with your new dog & welcome back to the sport

hi butch,i think they all need a break at sometime in the year,be it a dog or bitch ,all bitches are different ,if its a pup your getting you may not need to worry about her coming in season as yet, some will go 3/4 years before first season, :D
