I wonder if any one can advise me on the problem, up till 8weeks ago we had a 10 year old yorkie who was born at home, unfortunatly we lost her mum 6 years ago so we got a scoodle as coby missed her mum and everything was fine then we got Bentley the Chichuahua after we had had him for 12 months we obtained a bueautiful blue merle welsh collie and Bentley loved her and so did i unfortunatly my partner of 21 years didn't want her anymore and with pressure from the family I let her go the people who have her now keep in contact with me and send me photos of her but iI am still sturggeling with the her not being here anymore now my Chihuahua is very sad as he hasn,t got his best friend he just wants to sleep all day the only time that he is happy is when i take him out i feel that he is depreesed and I don.t know what to do should I get hin a female Chihuahua i really don't know can any help me I am allowed a small dog pls help thank you

I think getting another dog would depend on the reason your partner wanted rid of the first one

If there's a chance another chihuahua could cause the same issue then I'd say not to as everyone really needs to be on the same page. If there's no issue with another chi then it might be worth looking into.

Keep in mind that dogs are very sensitive to our moods. You say you are upset and missing the other dog. It may be your own minor depression that your little guy is picking up on and making him seem depressed. See if you can find ways to,perk yourself up and spend some happy quality time with him and I'll bet you'll see a change
