My dog has red lump on her mouth

My 3 1/4 German Shepherd and 1/4 Labrador has recently developed a red lump on her mouth, I am due to take her to the vets soon but I thought I would ask for any advice on what it could be or what can cause such a lump. It seems very irritable as my dog seems to scratch at it every now and again. Please if anyone as advice on this subject I would be sincerely grateful as I am very worried that it could be a cancerous lump.

It's honestly impossible to tell from a photo.It will have to come off anyway and the vet will send it away to be tested . That's really the only way to know for sure.

I don't know how soon your vet appointment is but I suggest making one asap to have this looked at.

We took her to the vets yesterday, they gave us some tablets and cream but if the lump dosen't go within a week they said it may be cancer and they would have to do a biopsy.
