Hi

Please could I have some advice?

My 12 week old puppy, Sweep a Jack Russell/ min Poodle mix is chewwing off the leather of my sofa!. Does not attack the stuffing just neatly naws a huge hole! Never ripped just eaten!!!

I have 2 other dogs Yorkies that are 6yrs old. All get on. They have toys, chews and my brilliant dog walker takes them out 2 hours a day!

I have had dogs all my life and have never come across this. Never chews any other furniture and house trained already! They also have a dog flap to garden. My other dogs don't chew this as not in their pooh!!

I have done the normal 'No' , sprayed area with anti chew spray (not from vet so maybe need something stronger?), covered holes over with heavy duty duct tape - he's like Houdini!!

All I can think he must like to eat the stuff! Does not do this when I am home!

Any suggestions?

aaaw, he is still a tiny chappy, and they do love to chew. My dog also loves leather, but a no! works on him cos he's ten :)

maybe ban him from the sofa entirely? Have you tried those spray can things that hiss? Useless if he doen't go near it when you are there tho... Erm.. What about a crate for when you are out, while he's going through the puppy chewing things stage? It'll be a hard habit to break if he already loves it and can stand the bitter apple stuff.

Can we have a photo of all three?
