URGENT INFORMATION:

In the last week or so at least 4 dogs are known to have died from a mystery

virus in the Norwich area and a number of others have been seriously ill.

Symptoms are sickness, diarrhoea & respiratory problems but it is definitely

not Parvovirus. Most of the dogs that died were unvaccinated puppies but it

has affected vaccinated dogs as well. So far they have all come from the

Mile Cross & Lakenham areas as far as we know. The dog warden is keeping

records to try and find a pattern or source and one of the dead dogs has been sent

to Newmarket for a post mortem. It is assumed it is being spread by close

contact between dogs or contact with infected urine/faeces/vomit but they don’

t know for sure.

There should be a press release in the EDP/Evening News tomorrow to warn dog

owners but the only thing we can do at present is avoid areas in Norwich

where we know lots of other dogs have been (especially if they may be

unvaccinated).

Please pass this info on to anyone you know who exercises their dogs around

Norwich.

Ill hoof this up because we dont need this speading nationally do we, perhaps you should post it on the racing forum seen that people travel nationwide infact all forums.

Thanks for the warning Beejay
