NACHO

**UPDATED: OCTOBER 2013**

Location: Kennels in Norfolk, UK. Nacho would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now with a lot of dogs in kennels, sucking up our finances. Any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.

Key Points: Friendly, chilled out, moderately active, good trainability, loves people, dog savvy, good lead manners.

Nacho is an approx 2 year old lurcher boy who has come to us to find his forever home. He was originally found straying before being sent to the pound and then taken out by another rescue before coming to us. He is a very pretty boy with a rich brindle coat and amber eyes. Nacho is a standard lurcher size at 24” to the shoulder, and really is a fab boy to be around.

~ Personality ~

Generally: Friendly, affectionate, trainable, confident & relaxed, clever boy with lots of potential.

Nacho has been with us for 2 weeks now and is settling in nicely. He is getting friendlier every day as he gets to know us better, and he is such a delight. He’s sharp as a tack and also loves treats, making training a fun experience for everyone. Nacho enjoys human company and is quite calm, taking things as they come.

~ In the Home ~

Generally: Not yet in a home.

Nacho has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes hounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience. Nacho would benefit from a moderately active home who will keep his mind ticking with play time and training sessions.

~ Other Animals ~

Generally: Good with other dogs, playful, not cat friendly.

Nacho has been very good with the other dogs in our kennels so far, and enjoys his romp in the paddock. He is equally good with large and small dogs, and would do well in a home with canine company. Nacho is not cat friendly.

~ Out and About ~

Generally: Good lead manners, great with other dogs and people, social and relaxed.

Nacho walks well on the lead and has great manners. He enjoys meeting other dogs and people and makes friends as he goes. His laid back attitude means he doesn’t get overly stressed in busy situations, and he could adapt to a range of environments.

Nacho is suitable to be let offlead in safe areas away from public roads and livestock once work has been done on his recall. He is not bouncy but would still like a moderately active home who would give him an hours walk a day as well as offlead sessions a few times a week so he can burn off steam.

~ Where Am I? ~

Nacho is currently in kennels in Norfolk. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you may be required to travel to our rescue to meet and collect him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Nacho is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This dear boy would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us via the following:
