personally i file my dogs nails every week and just have an extra look the day before a show to file off any uneven bits , i dont use clippers myself .

not sure if this is right but my girls nails always look lovely  so im happy :D

hi there

if you keep on top of them once you have them filed down, dont let them grow to long you should have know worrys, i once took my old girl to r club show under d. gilmore did not look at her nails as she was in vet, class put her on the table & danny said i like her nails, i looked at them & they were pink thanks to my daughter shannon :  my face was the same shade. :luck:

LOL

I had that once with MONTEE (w00t) Hadnt realised one of OH girls had done his nails , Boy did he look silly  just as well he didnt realise

I was told for racing to cut a slight `v ` on the top of the nail , it stops it growing quite so quick :p

I cut the tips off and then file down to a rounded shape for showing. I think square cut nails look horrible.

But if I were not a showie and just had pets I would probably just clip and be done with it.

I clip and file or dremmel. I round them. Nothing to do with appearance and everything to do with not being sliced open when they land on me. I've had nasty nail slices on the top of my foot when a freshly cut set of nails launched off me. I've also had nail tracks on my face when someone had the zoomies and did a turn on my face. I keep them filed and rounded!

  Yep I know exactly what you mean!! I think I should start filing, I'm fed up with the scratches over my belly when they jump up

ditto to that too - but I do get lazy with my pet dog and just cut his. :b
