Just a note on Pam's behalf, to let you know that Pam's lovely old boy Zubin...AKA N.Vet>Ch.Racing Spikes... suffered a horrible -looking injury on the track at Taunton on Sunday. He wasnt racing, just having a run down the track, when he slipped and fell awkwardly on his back, leaving him with legs all over the place and spinning helplessly.
The outcome and prognosis looked really grim initially , he went straight to Sandra who sedated him heavily. In the morning he was slightly more alert but still looking a very odd shape though able to stand., and completely off his face on "Tramadol" ! We took him to Sandra again yesterday evening by which time he was much more alert and able to walk, [even trying to jump up..] though still looking very un coordinated and a bit wobbly. Sandra was amazed at his progress and declared him a "very lucky little chap ". I agree with that, I feared for him ,having heard how he fell and did that spininng thing.
He now has a long period of rest, nursing by his devoted Mum and gradually increasing lead exercise to regain his strength, together with ongoing pain relief for quite a long time.
The outcome of this could have been so very much worse, and thankfully dear old Zubin will recover in time.. i wish him a complete recovery to full health and strength to Pam in caring for him and send them both my love and healing thoughts and wishes.
