The wee Nikita bitch ,that ive given my nephew, has virtualy no claws, and it seem's to me,that when she is going flat out, that her feet are sort of skidding,or not getting any grip,on the ground, and that she seem's to be running on her pad's,alone.Ive noticed this for quite some time, even when in the field's,messing about.Last year at John's show,in August, the ground was a bit wet,and with the very short grassy surface, she was skiting all over the place. When her n Trouble,(her sibbling),where in a good field with plenty of grip, she could run ring's round Trouble. But put them in a field with no covering,or on firm to hard ground, then she was an awful lot slower. She has never had pointy toes, like any normal dog,and seem's to have very short toe nail's,that are more nail stump's ,than toe nail's,that should grip the ground, when running,oe whatever. When she stand's on the ground, her wee shorties are about a 3rd of an inch from the surface of the road,or whateva. Is there anything i could have done,to promote nail growth.I would love it,if she could show her full potential, for my nephew, who has never had a dog before, and i am hoping that she gave's him a good interest, that will stop him ever being a street kid, with nothing to do,but trouble some poor critter.I know that a grass run would help, but he has a concrete yard,so that's out. ...Billy...
