As you can imagine, Lenny and Molly are fascinated

:D Oh they are lovely. I used to keep mice ( fancy mice) and I loved them. I never had any Spiny mice though ! They are adorable ! Good luck with them.

I have rats and hamsters still. Do you have any ?

they are very very cute, what big ears they have (w00t)

It's probably a really stupid question but why are they called spiny mice

Oh ... soooo cute    almost like cartoon mice with those lovely big ears.

I have had both before but don't have any at the moment. I don't think I'd have hamsters again though, we had 3 chinese hamsters, absolutely gorgeous but they caused so much trouble it was unbelieveable! Biting, fighting, escaping and then finally dropping dead all within a week of each other for no apparent reason

I don't suppose you saw my question to you about guinea pigs on the occupation thread did you?

They have little spines on their backs, they're not very sharp though! They look a bit like they have got hair gel on :D Think they have them to cause discomfort to any predators which decide to scoff them to put them off eating anymore, but I'm not sure if that is true or not, I might have dreamt it

so cute

i' had mice/hamsters in the past, have a rat at mo and hav to say they are my fav

I must admit that one of them (chinese hammy) was ok and didn't bite my OH (I never got close enough to it to find out :- " ) she was called Snowball. We got them as a group and were assured that they would be ok together, they were until they hit maturity then they all had to go in separate cages. Snowball once escaped and I found her curled up in the centre of a roll of wallpaper  she had chewed it up and made a nest!

Thank you for the advice :huggles:

The spinies have no names yet so I'm open to suggestions! 4 girls. The best I'm come up with is Geri, Emma, Mel and Victoria - The Spine Girls!!!!! (w00t) only problem is that the Spice Girls aint exactly my thing

Laughing my socks off...not mine either. :x ...BUT...What about Posh, Baby, Sporty and Ginger  hahahahahaha !

I thought that too but the mice are too cute for those names!!! The only other name I can think of is Stumpy (they have all only got partial tails, they are rescues from a not very nice situation :( ), but its not very cute and they'd all have to be called the same name - Stumpy 1, 2, 3 & 4
