We will shortly be introducing updated K9 Community Guidelines. These guidelines cover such things as what are and what are not acceptable posts. The guidelines are not significantly different from the existing guidelines in that respect.
There are a couple of new issues that are addressed by the guidelines and most importantly they introduce a new 'Warning System'. This warning system will have no implications for almost all those posting but I should tell you about it before it's introduced...
Every K9 Member is assigned a 'Warning Level'. This is a graded scale between 0% to 100% and is visible by the indivual member and Moderators. Members can only see their own warning level. Initially all members (apart from those already with posting restrictions) have a warning level of 0%. Any member posting outside of the rules of the community or otherwise causing problems is very likely to have their warning level increased by a forum Moderator or Administrator. Depending on the frequency or seriousness of the problem posting rights may be withdrawn for a period of time or we could require all posts by that user to be viewed by a Moderator before being put onto the board. If a members warn level reaches 100% that member will have their account suspended. The only effect for most will be that they will see their own warning level when posting.
These new rules will be intoduced within the next day or so and are designed purely to maintain the friendly atmosphere on K9.
