Hi guys me again

So I got my puppy who is 8 weeks and 4 days old .. so I have a crate in the front room as well as one in the bedroom .. so the past couple of days I've been letting her sleep on me and putting her in the crate in the lounge to feed because we have another dog .. also now I've started rather then putting her to sleep in the crate downstairs . I have started to put her upstairs not to be nasty but because the lounge is nosisy. . So I just wanted to know am I doing things right with the puppy. When she's on the front room she will whinge and cry .. but upstairs she settles so much better. Any advice would be great as I don't want her to think I don't care when I put her upstairs hopefully I made sense

Yes, you make perfect sense.

Dogs do not judge us. Don't worry that she will think badly of you for putting her somewhere quiet.

Looking at the long term I would not let her fall asleep on you all the time. Dogs can easily become dependent on our presence and get upset when we are not around. She needs to learn to be independent of you. Most puppies like to sleep on us because we are warm. If you can arrange for her to be just as warm in her crate it will help her settle. The last puppy I had I fitted a whelping box heated pad in her crate. They have armoured cable to prevent chewing.

Once your puppy is warm, well fed, with an empty bowel and bladder and tired she should settle. Try to only go to her when she is quiet so that she learns to wait quietly for you to come to her. A little bit of whinging is fine to ignore but do not let her get very distressed. If you get to her before she cries to let her out then she will learn to wait for you. The crying in the front room is probably caused by her being a bit frustrated at being cut off from the action she can see around her. Putting her upstairs for short periods will do her no harm at all.
