Hi I have just got a new puppy & have a 7year old cocker but the 7 year old just keeps growling at the pupIs it a jealous thing? Or will it take time for them to get used to each other?

Your older dog will be trying to instil some manners into your puppy. Your puppy needs to learn to approach other dogs in a mannerly way, and once allowed close, to play nicely. If your older dog is a bitch she will have higher expectations of your puppy's behaviour and be less tolerant of boisterous play. This is a good learning curve for your pup.

Mostly it is best to leave them to it but do ensure your older dog is able to move to a puppy free zone when he/she needs to.
