Hi all! So this is my first post here!

I have two whippets Cash - 41/2, blue, had from 1 year old. Dolly - 2, unspeyed as yet, only had for 2 weeks (got as a companion for Cash)

I believe in a varied diet and have done some research into the BARF diet. However I have never put any of my dogs onto Raw only, for various reasons.

At present I feed Hills science plan mini kibble (prescribed by vet as was having difficulty keeping weight on Cash) twice per day, mixed in with something a bit "tastier" I currently give this with - scrambled egg, raw meat (usually tripe, rabbit, lamb etc) veg, cooked chicken (not all at once, just for variety) and on occasion a small amount of a wet tinned dog food. They also get a very light supper which is usually just a small amount of raw meat.

On the odd occasion I add a small amount of cottage cheese to help keep weight on them.

This varied diet seems to suit them fine they are happy, active and very healthy! I like that they get variety also. generally I don't want to change their diet I just womdered if there were any foods I was missing out on that would benefit them. I just wondered if there is anything else anyone would recommend for keeping them in top condition. I haven't tried them on sardines yet but would like too, as I would like to add some gloss to their coat. Do you just mixed tinned sardines through their food? Also how often can you give them this? Also I usually grate a raw carrot through their food or add cooked. But I have read online of people giving the dog a half carrot to chew on like a bone......does anyone do this?

Many Thanks

Jen
