Hi

I am new to posting on this board but have been reading for a few weeks and have really enjoyed it. You all seem very friendly and knowledgeable. I love the photos. We are due to have a Whippet bitch puppy at the end of May. I have had a whippet before. He lived to be thirteen - but I had him as a 2 year old - so I may be in for some fun with a pup!!! Have been without a whippet for over 5 years and have really missed having one. We have a collie X (fostered and then couldn't part with him!!).

I might show my new little one, although first and foremost she will be a pet. Wondered if anyone knows of ringcraft classes in the Daventry or Rugby area? Also do any of you do agility?

Many thanks.

Hi Sarah, welcome to the board :D

I can't really help with your questions but I'm sure someone else will.

Can't wait to see your new pup - you must post us some pic's when she arrives

Hi Sarah, welcome to the k9 board :) .

Whippies are brilliant at agility, they really love it :D .They need to be a bit older to start practising agility,at least 12 months.

There is bound to be a ringcraft class held in your area, suggest you ring the K.C. and ask them for their list of training clubs in your area. They will send this to you free of charge and will cover ringcraft, obedience, agility, field trials etc.

Hi Lydia

Thanks for the advice - I will contact the Kennel Club. Glad to hear whippets are good at agility - I thought I might like to have a go - just for fun- when she is old enough, as well as perhaps doing a few local shows.

Many thanks

Sarah

My girls LOVE agility. One is purebred and one is a whippet mix, but they just adore it. I don't compete with them, but it's our afternoon out each week and I love to watch them just fly over the jumps with such grace and ease.
