Hi everyone! Im new here. Glad i found a site with other sighthound people to talk to. :D

Hi Sighthoundlover

Welcome to K9, what type of sighthound do you have?

Simon

Hi Simon

i have a Borzoi, two greyhounds, a whippet cross, hancock lurchers, my own bred lurchers and a beddy cross. :))

What hounds do you have?

Sounds like you've got your hands full there. I've got 3 Whippets number four on its way soon. :)

I could have guessed that but i thought better to ask! How cute i love whippets, did have one but he couldn't stay coz my big lurcher dog hated him and it wasn't fair to keep him. I miss him loads though. :(

What do you do with your whippets? Work/show or just pets?

We got them just for pets we tried showing but they found it boring and didn't like standing around.

Inky are little boy has taken up racing and he really enjoys it (he's still in training at present).

Do you do anything with your's ?

Racing is a great sport! My borzoi is pedigree, so she goes to pedigree shows, the greyhounds are just pets and they are the foundations for my lurcher litters. All the lurchers go to lurcher shows regularly and win most of the time. :teehee:

They also race if there are any at shows and they will participate in simulated coursing. In the winter they do what they were bred to do. Catch rabbits for the pot, get rid of a few foxes and occasionnally have a roe deer for the butchers.

Hi SHL, good to have you here
