Very nice  Now all he needs is a veggie patch and a humpy ball!

Wow...he's got a bigger garden than I have. One lucky tortoise :)

dont knock the humpy ball ....im thinking of investing in one  the poor lad humped his rock at least 3 times last thursday and ended up on his back on 3 occasions(not good under a heatlamp) so his hump rock is removed now.

I did see a tortoise hump ball on ebay which im seriously considering investing in :p

ive decided if he survives hibernation...which is a very sore subject in our house at the moment...apparently the best way is to store a tortoise in the salad section of the fridge for 4 mths as opposed to sticking in a box and hoping for the best(olde fashioned way) dave(husband) thinks salad section/live tortoise/human consumption food ....is far too weird /seriously unhygienic to contemplate...anyway....if everythings ok im gonna have a rescue tortoise next year :*

Love his garden, its great :) Im sure he will enjoy being in there. Good luck with the hibernation :luck: and the rehoming of another one too..

Garden looks great. Do you do them for humans too? :- "

About hibernation, why not get him a second hand fridge that still works and stick it in the garage? Then you could check on him every so often throughout the winter to make sure he's ok. Your OH could use the rest of it as his beer fridge - everyone's happy!

looks a great place for a tortoise, he'll be very happy and busy there, I always wanted my own tortoise, but now they are too expensive, didn't know you could 'rescue 'them :D

:luck: with the hibernation, what did your O.H. think of the beer fridge suggestion ?

Im thinking about buying another fridge just for the tort, apparently the little beer fridges dont maintain a constant temp making hibernation a bit risky wherehas "normal" fridges do maintain the temp more steadily.

There are a couple of organisations who do tort rescue (tortoise trust) i know of other people of forums who rescued some...they are usually big shipments of imported torts from abroad who are smuggled in...sometimes in there hundreds..the ones that survive usually go to adoption.

At the moment my husband is making him an outside sleeping area ...whilst im surfing net and drinking champagne(on special at threashers lol   ;) )
