Nice Parks/ Woodland Near Colwyn/ Conwy Area?

We're taking Roscoe and Grover (oh and the kids of course!) on holiday to Anglesey in a few weeks. It will be the biggest car journey the dogs have had so we want to stop off after an hour, which is half way there. We're on the east of Liverpool and half way will be around Colwyn/ Bodelwyddan/ Conwy area. We don't really want to go into a town unnecessarily so can anyone recommend somewhere 5-10 minutes off the A55 where we can stop for an hour to stretch their legs?

I've tried googling it but it just comes up with CARAVAN parks!
