The NNWRF have a committee of 11 all of who are in attendance at major events however we do have an arrangement between the committee taking into account that none of the committee take travelling expences those living farthest south do not need to travel to the North if they are not racing their dogs and visa versa

we have enough on the committee alongside the helpers of the host clubs to cover for anyone that can't attend

So WHY should I feel the need to explain my absence from the puppy champs when I have never had a day off ? Well a member has been e-mailing pics of me being at the Gin Pit (these can be seen on the lurcher forum) to the committee this was no secret so I don't know what she expects to achieve from it

My pups were due on the Sunday but as Tillie was showing no signs of going into labour by lunchtime I had a run over to the Gin Pit which is my local club 10 minutes away from home if needed, Well I'm sorry Kath but I wasn't going to risk being 2 hours away for you or anyone else :rant:

LINDA I FULLY AGREE WITH YOUR POST RUNNING THE NNWRF OR BWRA CAN BE A THANKLESS TASK AND WHEN THE ENJOYMENT GOES IT BECOMES A CHORE WE LOOSE GOOD PEOPLE.THIS CRITICISM AND IT ALSO HAPPENS AT CLUB LEVEL IS AN EPITOMY OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH WHIPPET RACING WITH A LACK OF APPRECIATION FOR THE PEOPLE WHO RUN OUR SPORT.WHY TALK BEHIND PEOPLES BACKS IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY DONT BE SHY COME OUT WITH IT.ON A LIGHTER NOTE HOW DID MURIEL LAST SO LONG IT MUST HAVE BEEN ROYS SUPPORT WITH ME IN THE BAR.

Just to clarify the situation here, yes I did send a pic of Linda at the Gin Pit to a friend. Yes, it did contain a tongue in cheek message saying about her delivering the pups from long distance being as she was at the Gin Pit. I did not send this message to anyone else other than the person I have mentioned. In the message I did not say anything about Linda having to explain herself. I have sent Linda a copy of my original message so that she knows exactly what I had written.

In answer to your question Les, yes I do frequently thank the workers for all they do to enable us all to run. However I will say I have not named them individually, perhaps I should do that in future.
