on behalf of the NNWRF I would like to thank OLD HALL WRC for stageing this event at short notice. the track was 1st class and as allways set up ready thanks to all who helped out Jeff Skinner all day on traps and who is allways ready and willing to help out at all our events it is much appreciated Old Hall's resident lure girl who does a fantastic job and runs her own and others dogs whilst doing it, Barbara who as allways does a great job on the tannoy and Bill who as allways was perched on top of the hill doing what he does the best driving the lure (he looked frozen) and never complains, thanks also to the canteen keeping the hot drinks flowing, sorry if Ive missed anyone thanks to you all who came and supported this new event

Just one glip and I must apologise to Alison Armstrong for sponsoring this event with the rossettes BUT I forgot to give them out they're still in the weigh in room as soon as I get them back I will pass them on to the recipients :- "

There were lots of great races and very close finishes. I certainly would not have liked to have been a judge on the line for those races. Well done to all the winners and to all who took part. I have to say a special well done to Sally and Elaine for Lexi, Eve and Milli, what a day for you both. Also Bootiful who listened to me very closely when I had a quick word in her ear :lol:

Can someone clarify whether i have the right DOB & breeding for Steel's Gift

This is being looked into,

it was a bit chaotic at the weigh in being upto 10-30am with just one of the committee left to take the entries, due to the need to get started as early as possible in order to get the racing over within dayligfht hours it was a bit of a rush and by not checking cards we put our trust in members to be honest. We are hoping this was a genuine oversight by the owners of the dog in question, however the the honours prize money and trophies will be withdrawn and shared between HEART STOPPER and SCEPTRE

Also at all future NNWRF events cards MUST be produced and checked for all PUPS, YEARLINGS and VETERANS and it will have to be a case of NO CARD NO RUN

I would like to add mine and Sally's thanks to all the workers, both Old Hall and the NNWRF Committee. Also a big thank you to all the people who very generously sponsered both the straight and bend super league events, the trophies we were lucky enough to win are beautiful. :cheers:

I have spoken to Geoff Skinner this morning, (the owner of Steel’s Gift) and he was under a genuine impression that the yearlings were run from 12 to 24 months. I have always found Geoff to be fair in whatever he has said to myself and his only criticism of the change of the result would mean that people would have the impression that he had cheated to allow his dog to race over age. Geoff told me he had ask what age the yearlings were allowed to run up to and was told 24 months and having phoned around today a lot of other people are under this impression also. I have no doubt that had the committee checked all cards before hand this discrepancy would have been found out and also that Geoff had no intention of cheating fellow racers in any way what so ever. As far as the N.N.W.R.F. are concerned this matter is now closed and it will be a lesson for us all. Cards will now be rigorously checked at future events.

Did it not used to be up to 24 months with the old nwrf? if so I can understand the mix up which led to geoff getting confused.

Thankyou the NNWRF and Old Hall club for a great day. Only rained once and would have to be when i was racing. Nice to see friends again and catch up hopefully we'll be back next year.
