Hi everyone. I would like some advise please. My whippet bitch, Bramble ,is within just a few days of her first birthday and has not yet had a season. One of her litter sisters, Lesley's Spry, had a season quite some time ago. Is one year without, at all unusual?

Many thanks

Chris

Nope not in my experience.

Some can be over a year and a half before they have their first it just depends on the bitch and how mature she is,don't worry it'll happen they are all different and I have found that they tend not to have read the same books as us  They do it their own way in their own time. IMO anyway :)

My Callista is going to be 2 in 5 weeks time and she still hasn't had her first season. I know bitches who had their first at 2 1/2. So one year is definitely nothing to wory about. :)

well - that's a good news then. ;)

My Sasha will be one year old on March 3rd - and our ONLY dog show in Dubai takes places on February 17th. I am assuming that with my luck she will spoil the fun for me.. but I see there is still a chance for us! :luck:

Hi Chris

Dont worry we had 4 bitches in Candys litter to Chase they where 1 on 1st of Dec, all have had seasons apart from the one we kept, Sparkys little bitch has had 2, We have a bitch Kerry who didnt have her 1st season till she was 2 1/2 so youve plenty of time.

Our whippet Dobé is 1year+1month old and she also didn't had her first season.

Thanks everyone. Once again you good k9ers have put me right.

Best regards

Chris
