Hi everyone,we took the plunge and got another pup, this time it`s my daughter lauras (the one that got bit) we talked about getting another dog but only when she was ready, she couldn`t wait so off imy chap went monday night 140miles to chester to get a pup, lovely temperment, just really noisy at night,we have a D.A.P. diffuser, bedding from his old owner, ticking clock, warmth, good food, but it has little effect,1st night didnt give in just left him to it(nearly started smoking again) 2nd night much the same, lastnight worse, trouble is we have some really sh**Y neighbours that report people al the time over silly things any tips anyone.(apart from moving or shooting the old bag)

ooo god i feel your pain ,i had the same with my tia went on for a while im afraid tryed everything ,once she was settled and feeling at home she stopped and now i have good nights sleep ,so my advice is just ride it out ,know its easyer said than done ,maybe take bottle of wine around for your neighbour like sumone suggest to me ,if shes pissed she wont hear a thing (w00t)

:b personally Id go round with the pup and explain the situation - explain the pup will be fine when settled  not many can resist a cute face..... but if she really is as bad as you say  then yes.... move - or tell her to (w00t)

Try a couple of teddies or putting a full kong in the cage at night to keep him occupied like the idea of a bottle of wine for the neighbour though because he will settle eventually maybe try a blanket over the cage sometimes it calms them and makes them feel more secure. Other than that a bowl of warm milk and honey with a dash of brandy before bed works to knock them out, sometimes.

Good luck and stick with it. :D :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

PMSL :D

Seriously though, it's so upsetting when they cry like that but it does get better ... just takes time

Good luck :luck: :luck:

Jake, our current pup..a Beddy x Whippet..has never made noise at all..from the age of 6w..but Holly the PRT was a crier at night..i tried it all..DAP, soft toys, hot water bag etc..the one thing that i found that worked (controversial one!) was to put her out for her last pee, take her upstairs with me and cosy her down in my arms, when she fell asleep i would bring her back down and pop her in her cage, which had a basket at the back filled with fleece and vetbed..i found after a week - 10days of doing this she settled on her own no problem. She didnt see it as a reward being taken into bed, as she hadnt been left and started to cry.

Well i mean look at the sentences you get now theyre a joke, youd only get a few months, all the conjugaling you want, breakfast in bed served by a nancy boy screw, free gym, coloured telly, latest dell computer with windows vista, and then early release payment :D ya better off using a flame thrower job done

instead of the wine i`ll offer her a cocktail.

A molotov cocktail that is.

Murphy cried until we got hima microwaveable toy. We used ot warm it up and then leave him snuggled in - never looked back. Even now when he feels really tired he will nuzzle that toy as a comfort.

AHH poor you sleepless nites! most pupies do settle after around two weeks. By then if she complains to anyone the puppy will have already settled and the noise will have stopped and they will be like what noise are you going mad? lol good luck with your new baby
