NOODLES
**UPDATED: OCTOBER 2013**
Location: Kennels in Norfolk, UK. Noodles would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family, and we are in desperate need of foster homes at present. Please do contact us if you think you can help.
Key Points: Fab young dog, social, friendly, very affectionate, cuddly, playful, goofy, great family member, dog savvy, not yet in a home, walks to heel.
Noodles! Noodles is a lovely fawn lurcher boy who possibly has some labrador in his makeup. He was taken from the pound and is now looking for a forever home. He is 26” to the shoulder and is gradually putting on weight and improving from the very thin wee thing he was upon arrival a month ago. Give him a couple more months and he’ll be in peak condition again.
~ Personality ~
Generally: Fantastic dog, playful, goofy, puppyish, trusting of people, loves cuddles, affectionate, social.
Noodles certainly hasn’t let his rough start affect his outlook on life. He loves everyone and everything all the time! He adores people and loves a cuddle. He’s happy, bubbly and very easy to keep contented – he just wants your company. He would be a lovely dog for older kids (8+yrs) or teenagers as he is playful and fun loving. Noodles is also a great big foodie so training is a doddle, he is super attentive and eager to please when he sees the treat bag come out! We can't wait to see this dog in a warm home as he has SO much love and squishy companionship to give, he is wasted in kennels.
~ In the Home ~
Generally: Not yet in a home.
Noodles has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. All he needs is a bit of understanding for the first couple of weeks until he finds his feet in the completely new setup. Noodles loves other dogs and would certainly benefit from having another dog present in his new home so he has someone to copy and learn from, but this is not an absolute requirement.
~ Other Animals ~
Generally: Loves other dogs, benefits from their company, playful, young, goofy.
Noodles is fantastic with other dogs and never puts a paw wrong. He is not expected to be cat friendly, but is very dog savvy and would be a great companion for another dog. He likes to play and goof around and is still just a puppy at heart really. He loves making new canine friends.
~ Out and About ~
Generally: Walks very well, loves getting out, very friendly and social, suitable for offlead after recall work.
Noodles is a moderately active boy who will need someone to exercise his body and mind. He is smart and athletic and may excel at agility or flyball. He would also love to learn tricks for his new family and is very eager to work for treats and praise. Noodles will be suitable to be let offlead in safe areas away from public roads and livestock once he has had work done with recall. Noodles is quite bouncy when he sees you coming with the lead, but doesn’t pull on the lead when the walk has started. He just loves his walks so much, he gets excited.
~ Where Am I? ~
Noodles is currently in kennels in Norfolk. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you may be required to travel to our rescue to meet and collect him.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Noodles is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This dear boy would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Noodles, you can contact me (Tam) via email: tam@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or speak directly to Bronwen by phoning: 075 000 62648. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs.
There are application forms for both adopting and fostering Noodles, and we will ask you to fill the relevant one in as the first step in the adoption/fostering process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the forms, as well as further information on our homing & fostering procedures, on either the Adoption Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/adoption.html or Fostering Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/Fostering.html .
Thank you.

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.
Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us via the following:
