We are new whippet owners and are interested in the possibility of racing. Anything we can see in north yorkshire?

Newton Aycliffe WRC Co. Durham is probably your best bet, or Maltby WRC Sth. Yorks.

Both are non-pedigree clubs but peds are very welcome. The Peds at Newton Aycliffe I believe run on a time handicap (PM DavidH for details) and Maltby WRC run a mixed time handicap though are looking into running Peds separately if there is enough interest.

You would be made very welcome to visit and watch with your dogs, obviously if you do decide to take up the sport your dogs could be schooled and race at both clubs but would need to attend a Pedigree Club in order to attain their appropriate paperwork to go racing at the Pedigree Opens.

Alternatively there are the Northern PWRC and Lancashire PWRC for Pedigree racing which may be a little further away but ideal if you want to find out the correct, comprehensive information about pedigree racing.

I hope someone can give you some more specific advice.

Good Luck :luck:
