Hi folks

My quest for a new addition (or additions) to the familiy seems to be overwhelmingly succesful thanks to this beloved forum. We now have the task of following up on the offers of whippets we have received.

What I'm now interested in is dog training or obedience classes in myarea. I can hit Dudley and Wolverhampton from where I live.

Now, I've looked on the internet and yes, I've seen various groups, classes and individuals but I'd like to know if anyone has a group or class that they can recommend in my area? Personal recommendation or experience is worth more than guesswork or picking the nearest.

I look forward to your replies,

Geoff xxx

Im not being funny but i took my last lurcher to 2 and it was a mess.why would i need my dog to be ok with people opening an umbrella in his face :teehee:

you can learn more from a book and teach and learn yourself .

I cannot recommend anything in your area I'm afraid, but I do recommend dog training classes, particularly for socialisation.

I take Dolly to obedience classes and hope eventually to take the KC Bronze award. :- " We have also recently started an 8 week agility class which is great fun.

Hi Geoff,

Then you might try Warley & District Dog Training Club situated at the Quinborne Cummunity Centre situated on Ridgacre Road. My Pyre passed K.C. Silver award here (Pyre's are hard to train). They meet on Thurdays from 7pm (except in school holidays). In fact, they have their companion dog coming up this Sunday at Woodgate Valley and is usually a good show, so if you pop along there and just ask for any of the club officials.
