I have a 15 1/5yr old lab. She is not vocal at all, she only ever barks once at the back door when she want's to come back inside if the door has shut behind her.
She went deaf over a year ago and this year has begun to lose her sight. She comes to work with me and like to lay on the grass outside or on a bed near my desk, the door is always open and she can see me at the desk.
Recently she has been barking for no reason, usually laying down, not looking at me or anything in particular. The barks are short, loud and she seems to get bored after a few and stop. I think it is a bark to say 'where are you?' or 'come here!', she's not in pain and has regular health check so nothing going on.
So, me being a curious type I thought I ask - Do you have experience of this? Or do you think I'm wrong and it's something else?
