If one dog is entered in two classes that is 1 dog but 2 entries, hence more entries than dogs

Some are entered in more than one class.

The numbers indicate how many dogs or bitches are entered the entry would indicate if dogs are entered in more than one class.

Ahhhh thanks i couldnt seem to figure that out for myself. You learn something new everyday.

great! no one will notice my panic then :sweating:

I believe there is a smaller entry for dogs this year compared to 2007 but a larger entry for bitches. Wonder if that is a reflection on the number of dogs being shown at present or the Judges.

well I know that both judges are extremely well respected, so I would guess that its for the same reason as it has been at almost every show I've been to over the past year - that more people are showing bitches than dogs at the moment

I can't find the dog/bitch breakdown, but 2006 figures overall were 390 whippets, 468 entries

I can't find the figures (unless I sit and tabulate them which I 'could' do) for 2007, or other years, but to me it's only a slight fluctuation that you'd get at any show. Possibly some have preferences for judges. Some hate going on the final day, Crufts is getting more expensive. But honestly I don't see a huge wavering in 3 years of the overall entry. Dog entries are usually lower at most shows than bitch entries.

Gosh I'm DREADING the 8:30am start for Veteran Bitch!! That's what OH will be calling me when I'm shouting at him in the morning while we're getting ready to get there on time LOL

While I am in the ring waiting for my turn I like to calculate how much money the Whippet exhibitors have added to the Crufts coffers. (w00t)

I've never been to Crufts too early but know traffic can be appalling mid morning. What is traffic like for exhibitors arriving early? Do you have to add extra time to be in the ring for 8.30? Or is traffic due to visitors arriving later?

It's actually not too bad (though it is busy) that early. It won't be that bad for us as we're staying on a hotel on the property, so just have to drive 5 minutes down the road to the parking lots. On weekdays I'd think that you'd need to add extra time because you'd also have 'rush hour' traffic as well as Crufts traffic.
