It was a nice morning so we decided to try the dogs on a few birds i had seen feeding in some rape left behind by the combine. the dogs worked well and had a few attempts but we came home with nothing :( on a good note though cleos leg seems to be on the mend and after a few runs no lameness has shown.. In the first pic a bird is just rising and god knows how archie missed it.......

Mid afternoon is the best at this time of year, as the daylengths drops make your forays earlier in the day. At the moment most squirrels are still feeding in the trees but as soon as the leaves drop and the nuts are on the ground is when the fun begins..

cheers mate a spot i know they seem to be feeding on the ground already i got with in 12 foot of a few of them but dog was not with me but will be soon

Tree rats can bite, one of mine found that out and avoids them now, once bitten, not doing it again thank you!!

The ruddy things pinch the peanuts from the bird feeder, fixed them with an upside down conical baffle. The tried all sorts to get past it, eyed up the distance from the trellis to the feeder, and have GIVEN UP.

My OH thinks they are sweet.
