Hi All,

Its bin a while since I posted, we have been soooooo busy, Floyd is growing fast and we nnow enjoy many long walks with him. He is still a bit picky, but I have noticed he wolfs his tea down and asks for more, yet hardly bothers with his breakfast, sO i take it up after 20 mins, is it worth giving him more at one meal a day - teatime?

Lise & Floyd

How old is he? :)

George does the same thing, he's always too dozey and sleepy in the morning for breakfast, he usually lies hugging his denta-stix between his two front paws nibbling on it between dozes and I leave a bowl of dried food out which he grazes on more when he's livened up and has it finished by lunchtime. Whereas when it's time for evening feed he seems to have developed a black hole in his stomach! :D

All of my Whippet's are fed twice aday .......Like Floyd they are hungry at tea time .....So I give a smallish breakfast with a bigger Tea .....Work's for us :D .........Any new photos ??

i do two meals too, small breakfast after morning run and bigger tea  works for us too!!

Mine have 3 meals a day,a small breakfast, then chicken wings at lunch time, then main meal about 7ish.

i've found that if my lot don't have something to eat first thing in the morning, they will bring up bile,& then feel queezy & not want to eat later!

Mine have milk and a chicken wing in the morning with main meal about 5 ish , , but not forgetting the odd chew when I go out / come back etc  Plus any left overs from OUR dinner ( not to be guaranteed though :- " )

what sort of milk do you give them, Jax? Is it soya, or cow's? I've heard goat's milk is good, too - do you give them that at all?

After some advice about feeding on here (i was feeding tin dog fod and dry biscuits - Farts bad :x )

I changed to Greyhound Beta dry food.....Tilly still wouldnt eat the biscuits in the morning :( , so after more advice, i was told to add a little warm water over the biscuts and see what happens....

Well she eats them all up day and evening now... (w00t)

But what else should i feed her (ok ok thread hijack :- " ) I fancy giving her a try on chicken wings, but am a little scared...

Just go for it, Kim - it's an amazing thing to watch, the first time they crunch up that chicken wing and wolf it down, bones and all. Tilly will love it. My two get so excited when they see me with chicken wings in my hand!!

OOoo er sounds a bit um *wispers* rude........ :- " :b

I will buy some today how many do i give her? is it every day??

I give them one each, every other day, supplementary to their meals. Alternate days they have a pig's ear each (which they go just as mad for). You can get a tray of ten wings from the supermarket in those value packs for about £1. I freeze pairs in seperate bags, and defrost when needed. I think they're even cheaper if you get pet-quality ones from the pet-store freezer section in Pet's at Home in Eastville, but the bags are quite big (about 30?) Let us know how you get on.
