iam confused,,,,,,,,,,which aint hard lol

i was told 2day,,,,after scottish champs,,,,,there wont be a nnwrf open the day after on sunday,,,,,,is this true??????

and who make,s these decisions this late in the day,,,,???? almost 3 months away ????

( i might be wrong,,,,,,,but whats the reason,,,,???? ) mind u i understand there aint a bwra open on these 10 days,,,,,,,,seems the case for me ,,,,,why bother joining either,,,,if kirkcaldy dont get a single open from either,,,,,

committee dicide .last year was a poor turnout as an open with added money was put on for the monday wich obviously atracted more dogs so most ran scott champs sat then mon leaving a bad turnout for sun and we could only have one in scotland wich is in 2 weeks time not got one in northeast so looks like we will be doing a lot of traveling too.

Sorry Gary you are wrong, There was defo no added prise money at the George Haggart. There never has been since it has been run at Kirkcaldy, payout was a direct result of entry as most top ten opens are. But for those coming up to our 10 days The George Haggart will now be run on the Sunday to fill the void.

cant rembemer,,,,,,,,,,,but monday was less busy,,,,,,,,than the sunday

i know as i raced sunday last two years,,,,,,,and last year was not bad ,,,,,,,,,compared to 2007,,,which i ran also

most dogs that are put out on saturday run sunday,,,,,,,,or do both,,,,,,

but monday to me was always a worse turn out

no nnwrf or bwra ,,,sponsoring,,,,10 days,,,,,,,,,,,,,says alot,,,,,,,,( and that doesnt mean added prize money,,,,,,its about racing,,,not money )

iam i right nnwrf,,,,moved there,s to swallow nest,,,,??????

( each club should be given a bwra open and nnwrf open,,,,,fairnest to all,,,,no matter where club is based )

my mistake regarding added money val. we like everyone else have to travel there was no malice in this just the way they have been spread out also it means at least 3 committeee members have to be there for both weekends wich is not allways practicle due to work comitments etc , but still think 3 open races sat sun and mon will afect entries to either opens. the nnwrf opens have been spread out through the country as fair as could be done we have to travel to most of them too not even got one in the north east this year. and yes your right it is about racing and its been spread out as foir as is possible fed champs is swallowsnest and an open monday for those wishing to race.

also forgot to say we only get alocated so many opens in a year so cant do all clubs in a season

until 2009 the George Haggart Memorial had not been run in the Scottish 10 day event and the NNWRF have allways had an open on the first weekend as part of this event, after a great deal of consideration the NNWRF committee have taken the decision in view of the poor turnout last year this open would be better served on another date as 3 days racing (plus the mid week open) appears to be too much leading up to the main event the SCOTTISH DERBY and if we took the NNWRF open off this year it would make for a better attendance at the other one and hopefully we can sort something out for next year. The descision and the reasons for it were explained to Arthur before it was removed from the calendar, Arthur suggested we have the mid week date which we turned down

Don't worry Robert you can just run at all the events over these days now without having to shell out any extra membership money. LOL. There is a BWRA and NNWRF event at East Ayrshire this year if you want to run in then you will have to travel there. It seems when the opens are being dished out that England is divided into regions and it seems fair that each region is considered for an open from the National bodies. As Scotland is treated as one region then although we may have to travel from north to south of the country we have still recieved an open the same as any other region.

u called me robert val, ,,,,my sarah calls me that ,,,when she,s angry,,,lol

u right ,,,,,i remember gettin falmily membership,,,,regersterds dogs,,,and entry fee,,,,cost me £90 that day,,,,,money wasnt a issue then

but ive noticed since i got back to racing,,,,,,there,s nothing for the norther,s,,,,,,ok there is east ayrshire,,,,i went to there weekend last year and it was good SATURDAY AND SUNDAY:thumbsup:

but pll,s dont relise,,,,we race at kirkcaldy,,,,,but most dogs come from further north,,,,and to ask us to travel further for a open is a joke,,,,

i take my hat off to the nnwrf,,,for putting opens on for us on ten days,,, as it gave kirkcadly members a break in 10 ten day,s on the run up to derby,,,,seeing u and george,& arthuer e,t,c,, ACTULLY SITTING,,,,and watching the racing,on sunday,,,is a very rare thing lol

i do relise ,,,,we cant all have opens at clubs, :b :b :b ,,,,,but over the years we have no bwra,,,now MAYBE no nnwrf ( weather thats perment i dont know ? )

but u know me VAL i say it ,,,,as black & white,,,,,,,if u dont shout u never get heard lol

( GUYS DONT WORRY ,,,,I THINK MY TOPIC WAS MORE ME ,,,SUPRISED THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND JUST GETTIN TOLD THAT DAY,,,,,AND DRUNK IN CHARGE OFF LAPTOP,,,LOL,,, :b :b :)) )

Ok BOB I know it is a pain when it seems we have to travel everywhere but what can we do? I think most people do realise that we mostly come from further north to run at Kirkcaldy, but why should they care? We are a very small minority when it comes to Whippet racing. Seemingly it was decided that there was to much racing over the ten days for NNWRF to compete and get better turnout for their event. However nobody approached and of us (haggart family) and asked if we would move George Haggart to another date to allow NNWRF event to be kept in the usual spot and perhaps get better attendance, which seems strange considering the amount of consideration that seemed to go into changing this event.

Anyhow it has been decided so no use us voicing opinions after the fact we will just have to take it on the chin as always.

Bit of advice stay away from computer when you are drunk.

Secondly shouting doesn't always get you heard, people have to be prepared to listen for that to happen

a great deal of thought was put into it as is all opens and venues Val, looking at the attendance in 2009 with the addition of the George Haggart memorial open compared to previous years, sorry if you feel hard done by but we were dissapointed with the situation last year as the extra open made for really low entries, we consider the NNWRF open wasn't wanted/needed at this event and it would better served on a different date, It is not the NNWRF's place to ask you to withdraw or move your event.

Linda I don't feel badly done by it at all because I did not take it personally at the time, However iit now seems that the Fed were disappointed with the situation last year if this was the case then any one of the commitee could have approached myself or George and asked why this had been changed and whether or not this could be resolved in any way. They then would have found out that this had in fact been voted on by Kirkcaldy club member at their AGM all democratically and above board.

Instead it seems the commitee took the view between themselves (if your post is correct) that they were unwanted or needed by Kirkcaldy club. Which wasn't the case at all. Another point that may have been made clear during any discussion was that the George Haggart isn't our event it belongs to Kirkcaldy club and as a club event I would not have had the authority just to move it to when I think it should be ran. However if there had been any communication on the subject before this then I am sure talking to club members and letting them know how the Fed felt about things they would have agreed to move the open to another day.We always strive to make our ten day events the best we can for all racers taking part.

If I remember correctly we (The Kirkcaldy Club) voted on the George Haggart to be ran at the ten day event so that there would be another Top Ten open for dogs to run at and people across the border didn't need to travel for miles again if they wanted to take part. However it seems that we are the only ones that think this way in present climate.

Linda I know you are only one person on a committee of many so ths reply is not aimed at you as an individual. But I am surprised that the Fed felt they could not have shred these feelings before now. Val
