OSCAR

Meet Oscar! Oscar is a small greyhound x lurcher boy who is about 2 years old. He was found straying in Dublin, Ireland and was picked up after being hit by a car. He was very lucky however, and was not badly injured, getting away with just a few cuts and scrapes. He is now recovering nicely and is putting on some much needed weight. Oscar has a lovely black coat with some dark brindle streaks running through it and with white tipped paws, chest and tail, he is a very pretty boy!

Oscar is now in a foster home to recover from his injuries, and has most definitely made himself at home! He has settled in with the resident 15 year old wire-haired dachshund like they are long lost fiends, and they even curl up together in his crate. During his stay at the local vet clinic, Oscar didn’t bat an eyelid at the cats who paraded past his kennel, so there is a possibility of him being cat friendly. This will be tested more thoroughly, however, before Oscar can go to a home with cats.

Oscar has been fantastic with everyone he has met, and we can’t find any fault in him. He is gentle, placid and obedient and is gradually getting used to living in a home for what is very likely the first time. Certain sounds on the TV still make him jump, but he is getting better. He is clean through the night and doesn’t put a paw wrong.

Oscar loves his walks, though as one of the injuries is on his paw, his walks are kept short at the moment. He doesn’t complain, however, and is happy to curl up and sleep the day away. He has his own duvet with a lovely warm blanket on it but whenever possible he likes to curl up in his dachshund friend’s bed despite its small size… or better still stretch over both of them!

Oscar would fit in to a range of home types, and we hope that after such a hard start to life, he wont be waiting too long for his forever home.

Oscar is currently in foster care in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Oscar, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
