Our 3 dog's were attacked tonight by a Staffie. It went for Guess Who first but John managed to swing him out the way , he then went for Guess When and pinned him to the ground and he is a bit torn and a few bite marks on him, John said he kick hell out of it and got a good kick in and he let Ricky go. He the lunged at poor Nemo and boy did Nemo take a beeting he all bite mark's. Nemo managed to slip his collar and escape with the staffie chaseing him. Nemo did come straight home and lost the Staffie. John went out to find out who owned the Staffie while I cleaned the dog's up one at a time. The police have just left and as we have a few witnesses they are going to talk to them , then go and see the owner of the Staffie.

Robbie has a scratch on his back leg so he not so bad,,,Ricky has 3 bite mark's on him and a tear on his side but not to bad (not needing stitcked) but Nemo has puncture and bite wounds one ever corner of his wee body. I cleaned him up and put antibiotic cream on him and Ricky but Nemo has the Lamp Shade on him...Im taking all 3 to the vet's tomorrow morning . John is very badly shook up as he realy thought Nemo was a gonner when the Staffie took off after him as Nemo or any of our dog's get to wander the street's.

Im sorry if Ive babbled but Im a wee bit shook up myself.

I hope your boys and your family are ok now :) I hate it when there's such badly behaved dogs about off lead  .....and all i can do is wish you luck and hope that your dogs arn't too emotionally scarred :( ......just find the dogs that your's get on well with and that give them confidence, and i hope that helps your Whipps to re-build their confidence :luck: ....Hannah

good luck on getting that staffie ,. the owners want prosicuting, hope the dogs are all ok . let us all know after you have been to the vets ..thinking of you all

:( Sorry to hear your dogs have been attacked Susan. I hope the owner of the Staffie is found and stopped from keeping any type of animal.

Staffies can tear a dog apart if not trained properly. Our old Staffie has just passed on after living with our whippets for 15 years. Thay are great dogs if trained well but can be killers if left or encouraged to do there own thing.

I hope Robbie , Ricky and little Nemo are better very soon and the shock of whats happened dosnt do them to much damage. Flesh can heal but it must of frightened the poor mites half to death.

i hope they sort out the staffe owners and your lot are all feeling better very soon :huggles: . It must have been so frightaning

wendy

poor things.....i really hope they are ok (it sounds like you both needed a stiff drink)

hopefully the police will see the owner of the staff and something can be done about this  .

 thats terrible news susan why oh why do these people let their bloody dogs roam the streets??!!! I hope your dogs and yourselves are all ok. carole x :luck:

So sorry to hear this! I really hope your dogs recover mentally as well as physically! :huggles: :huggles:

OMG why does this always happen to Whippets

So sorry to hear this susan , we hope the poor whippets are ok bless em and John too, WHY do people let their dogs roam the streets when they know full well that if not trained those sort of dogs can be nasty !!!

Really sorry to hear that Sue/John-

As you know the same happened to us-same breed etc..

I understand how shaken you must feel..

Its now almost 2 years since ours were attacked (Waterford-was in her mums tummy when she was bitten, mauled and whisked off to the vets-I'm still surprised the litter survived the anaesthetic)- I still experience panic attacks when I see a similar dog approaching.

Hope all goes well.

Karen

How many times do we have to read story's like this one before the police ect take action to stop them.

Hope everything works out ok with the dogs.

hope your dogs make a speedy recovery, and see you all at the derby.

A nasty thing to happen to any dog and owner that obey the normal rules of walking a dog. These so called dog owners ought to be brought to book, it could very easily be a youngster out walking their dog, it is bad enough for John and Sue. I hope that you and your dogs get over this and are able to carry on as per normal. All the best for the future to you both and your dogs.

hope they're all ok.It happened to gerry.him and scooby attacked on horden whippet track when he went for some cans at the shop. This stupid akita took a chunk out of scoobys ear.its still wanders the street now.

Thank You to everyone for you kind word's.

I had the dog's at the vet today and it look's like Guess Who never got bitted only grazed when John pulled him away from the dog, he so lucky.

Ricky has been bitten 3 time's with a rip on his side that is brused, he had a few cry's today and was scared stiff at the vet's. He is very nervy just now so a lot of confidece building to be done with him. Nemo is a wee star not comlained yet, even at the vet's and was quite happy to talk to everyone. He has a lot of puncure wound's on him the most being on his left side. His wrist and hock were lucky not to be broken and he has load's there. His neck is bruised and he been coughing and choking a wee bit. Both are on antibiotics and the vet said the wound's looked nice and clean. They are very lucky dog's as it could have been a lot worse.

The witness's who saw the attack gave us the wrong address for the dog so the police could do nothing , but we have been asking around and one dog fit's the description of it and John went to see the owner tonight and John said he was sure that was the dog. The owner denies it though.

B******s saying it wasnt his dog  this is what makes me so angry is that the police can do nothing and that the b*****d will still let his damn dog out unattended
